We were approached by DCLT to provide a solution to the issues they were experiencing with their current access equipment at Hatfield Water Park. They had an existing swing gate and automated rising hump installed at the site, but they were both damaged beyond reasonable repair.
Due to the inefficient access control systems in place, DCLT was experiencing issues managing the footfall into their Outdoor Activity Centre which was allowing unwanted visitors to enter the facility without payment.
The current site did not have an established intercom system in place so visitors to the site were not able to contact the office from the front gate if entry validation was needed.
The site also did not have a pedestrian gate so was not easily accessible for people visiting the site on foot.
Bespoke integration solution for the customer
A new cantilever sliding gate and pedestrian gate were supplied and fitted to the entrance of the activity centre. The sliding gates are now set to automatically open during business hours via a pin that is supplied to customers on booking or via the intercom system. The gate can remain securely closed during closing hours to provide enhanced site security and stop any unwanted visitors.
An ACT365 cloud-based access control system was also installed as an extension to the current corporate cloud-based application giving the site its own login credentials and management – staff proximity badges for staff and individual pin codes for customers.
An Akuvox touch screen video intercom unit was installed to the site. This communicated via the network to a smart phone app on the duty managers phone to allow for communication and validate entry / exit etc. Simply answer the call via the app, verify and open the gate.
A dedicated HD CCTV camera system was also installed to monitor the gate 24/7 and record events of the gate opening.
